Dear EMPA member,

EMPA Gathering 2006 will take place in Brussels 4–7 October.
The annual gathering of European Military Press Association this year will take place in Brussels, Belgium, 4-7 October. The gathering, which also includes the General Meeting, will start (arrival and registration) on Wednesday evening 4 October, and the participants will leave on Saturday morning 7 October.

At the General Meeting last year the possibilities for having a congress or meeting in Brussels in 2006 were discussed, focusing on what is going on in the NATO and EU. We have received positive response from the NATO and EU Headquarters, and the program is now being prepared together with EU and NATO officials. This is somewhat different from how EMPA congresses usually are organized, with a national host.

In the NATO Headquarters there will be a session with briefings on the upcoming NATO Summit in Riga in November. The EMPA participants in Brussels are supposed to be very well prepared before the Summit, and should be able to write informative articles on the subjects.
